About Obviously Skincare

Obviously Skincare is an independent skincare publication founded in London in 2019 by Harris Khan. We research ingredients, trial products and publish evidence-based routines, guides and reviews.

Editorial method

Where an article makes a clinical claim, we cite peer-reviewed papers (PubMed / PMC) rather than brand studies or influencer recaps. Typical sources include trials on retinoids and photoageing, niacinamide and sebum, salicylic acid, azelaic acid, ceramides and barrier lipids, hyaluronic acid, and daily sunscreen.

We do not invent a named medical reviewer. Harris researches and writes the pages. That is disclosed on purpose: a fake clinician badge would be worse for trust than an honest byline.

Pages are updated when the advice, product availability or evidence changes. A year in a title is only used when it helps a shopper (a 2026 roundup), not as decoration on every URL.

What we are not

We are researchers and enthusiasts, not doctors. This site is not a substitute for a GP or dermatologist. Painful, scarring or medically complicated skin needs a clinician.
